UN BUENOS AIRES CAN ENTER TO NEGOTIATE (Courtesy, Permanent Assembly for Peace)

The government should accept the good offices UN General to accompany the process of unilateral release of hostages

Permanent Assembly Civil Society for Peace welcomes and supports the efforts of Civil Society members advance to the unilateral release of six hostages who remain captive by the FARC guerrillas and urged the Colombian government to reconsider the refusal of international support and take an open and generous to provide all possible means to come to fruition this humanitarian action.

In this sense we call the national government to accept the good offices offered on several occasions, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, who has expressed interest in having a constructive role, both for the release of the hostages as a process of rapprochement eventual peace. The presence as a guarantor of a special representative of UN Secretary General, would help in creating confidence between the parties, to overcome any obstacles, to accompany the work of civil society and give more comfort to the families of the hostages.

The Permanent Assembly of Civil Society for peace, trust in the successful outcome of this unilateral release and that this is a breakthrough in the way of reaching agreements and humanitarian commitments in view of achieving a breakthrough on the path of political and negotiated solution.
